Kissling Motorsport prepared the upcoming VLN season with intensive tests in Spain and at the Nürburgring over the last days.

Whenever you passed the garage of Kissling Motorsport during the VLN test and tune session you saw satisfaction on the faces of the whole team. The hard work of the last weeks has paid off – the Astra OPC of the Race Camps and the sister car of the Fritzsche-brothers were not only reliable but also very fast.

 

At the beginning of March Kissling Motorsport already took the black Race Camp-racers to the Spanish Monte Blanco to do the roll-out. Despite capricious weather at the beginning,  the test near Sevilla was extremely satisfying, so that the test and tune session at the Nürburgring on the 17th of March was expected.
But the Eifel showed its notorious side and threw a spanner in their plans with freezing temperatures which caused icy Nordschleifen-sectors. Only the Friday before the test and tune session of the VLN the Opel from Bad Münstereifel could be put on the track.

 

A tight test programme with the Race Camp-racers as well as with the Fritzsche-Astra was done in the following two days. While the black race cars of the screening programme were driven amongst others by Volker Strycek and Stefan Kissling to test them extensively, Heinz-Otto and Jürgen Fritzsche remained at the wheel of their Astra. The Fritzsche-Astra was modified during winter not only visual but also the aerodynamics were brought to the same level like the Race Camp-cars. Now the Fritzsche-car is extremely wide which has a significant impact on the handling performance.

 

Jürgen Fritzsche stated: “Due to the drastic modification of the aerodynamics our car has now a lot more contact pressure. This is extremely noticeable in the fast corners. The Astra is much calmer in these sectors and so much more corner speed is possible.“

 

All preperations are done at Kissling for the first round of the VLN on the 27th March – from now on the season can begin!
